Our story
Customers want service to be quick, friendly and in their best interests. This is what we deliver at Start Communications.
We provide voice, mobile, connectivity and security technologies nationwide, from our home in Sussex.
We had decades of telecoms experience between us. In that time, technology seemed to advance faster than service. From installations to support, we had seen too many customers wait too long for resolution. We shared their frustration.
We pooled our expertise and set about doing things differently. Using the power of cloud technology, we saw that we could deliver faster than our competitors, with the honest, expert advice our customers deserve.
That was in 2020, and we are proud of how far we have come since. We have won multiple industry awards already, and developed great customer relationships with SMEs, charities and large enterprises. This is because we act fast and put their interests first. And that is the Start Communications way.
Our Charity Work
Start Communications have been working with Chestnut Tree House for several years now. Their support to the charity is outstanding, both through raising awareness and vital funds.
Chestnut Tree House is a local Children’s hospice, caring for children with life shortening conditions. The hospice is based in Arundel, but we look after nearly 300 children throughout Sussex and South East Hampshire also at the family homes. Our work is vital, ensuring the families get the help, support and care they need, through the good times and the bad times. It cost over £4m a year to provide the care and support and we get less than 14% central Government funding. This is why, support from our community is so important.
Since 2021, the team at Start Communications have gone above and beyond. They have got involved with many different campaigns that has helped Chestnut Tree House to grow, both in profile and also with raising vital funds. Our biggest campaign that the team have got involved with was our Christmas Tree Collections. These took place in Brighton and Hove, and Bognor Regis. Residents within these areas could register to have their Christmas Tree collected at the beginning of January 2022 for a donation to the Charity. We had over 800 people register in these two locations, which was a huge task.
The team from Start communications were incredible, volunteering to collect the trees in the Brighton and Hove area, providing their own time and a van to complete the routes provided to them. As you can imagine, it is a physical challenging campaign too, so the team worked incredibly well together. With their help, the Christmas Tree Campaign raised over £18,000.
Their interest in setting themselves different challenges is incredible too. Richard Scott, Director, decided to take on a sponsored Skydive. Richard confessed he was petrified but he knew the reasons behind taking on such a challenge, to help raise money so children and their families can continue to be supported by Chestnut Tree House. Richard overcame his fears and succeeded in his Skydive, raising an incredible £2,230. Again, it wasn’t just about the money raised, the awareness of what he was doing was amazing. A true advocate to the Charity.
Their passion and interest in getting involved in whatever they can is so refreshing. Where ever they can help to share with those they know or other businesses they work with, about the work that Chestnut Tree House does, makes a huge difference. Donating items to our silent auction, to taking part in our clothes recycling projects, the team really do go above and beyond.
Their dedication and huge support really does mean so much. With their help, we can ensure that every family that can use our help, gets the support that they truly need. Making memories, spending that time together really is what the team at Start communications believe in and this is what drives them to all support Chestnut Tree House in the way that they do.
